Letters from a Marine inspired an unusual and thoughtful gift, assisted by the services of the Engraving Connection in Plymouth, as a customer, David Thompson, explained in an email:  “My brother recently was in Marine “boot camp” at Camp LeJuene, NC. We enjoyed all his letters, but there was a saying that particularly stood out. . Towards the end of one of his letters he repeated the mantra ‘There’s no place like home, there’s no place like home, there’s no place like home . . .’ “.

Inspired, David built a display box containing a pair of combat boots that he covered with white glue and red sparkles - Ruby Combat Boots.  An engraving plate in the display contained the simple message “For Emergency Only. . . Never Give UP”.

When Dave’s brother moves up in rank and has a desk job, the display will be sitting in his office as a warm reminder of home.  Messages like this from satisfied customers mean a lot to the Engraving Connection.  "It puts a smile on the employee’s faces" says owner Rex Tubbs "we all like to be reminded about how the work we do touches people's lives".
