Canton vs. Plymouth Shopping - Which do You Prefer?
This poll, which appeared only on our Plymouth site, gauged site-user attitudes regarding their preferences for the retail areas in Plymouth vs. Canton. You would expect Plymouth residents to show a preference for the area where they live, but the No. 1 response actually indicated an appreciation for what each community has to offer.
Poll Question: Canton and Plymouth have distinctly different retail business zones: Plymouth has more locally owned businesses and a defined downtown; Canton has much more big-box retail and chain locations along Ford Rd. and Michigan Ave. Which do you prefer? 34% Plymouth 13% Canton 16% No Preference 38% I like both - depending on what I need or want

I like shopping in Canton. There are many well known places to shop and eat. The only thing I don't like about Canton shopping is the traffic that you run into along Ford Road.

I would agree that it depends on what you are shopping for. If it's clothes for the kids, you can't beat Kohl's, Target or Old Navy in Canton. If it's an unusual or personal gift item, you can find it in downtown Plymouth. I also prefer downtown Plymouth when shopping with friends, and we also want to take a break for lunch or dinner.
