Congratulations Allison Schmitt!

Canton's own Allison Schmitt, a graduate of Canton High School, has made the Chiefs community and residents of our area proud of her accomplishments in the pool for years, but she will now take her talent, hard work and determination to a much bigger stage by qualifying to represent the United States in the 200 meter freestyle event the Beijing Olympic games. By finishing second in the US Olympic trails, with a time that bettered the previous American record, Allison will be a strong medal contender in the event at the Olympic games.

Regardless of where she finishes in Beijing, all of us should be proud of this outstanding athlete's accomplishments. We'll be watching.  Way to go, Allison!
