Are You Recycling? Canton Makes it Easy!

From Canton Community Focus

The new Single Stream Recycling (SSR) program now in effect in Canton makes it easier than ever before to recycle more of your household waste and minimize your household's contribution to area landfills.  SSR uses an advanced sorting technology to that allows all recyclables to be collected in one truck and sorted at an automated plant instead of at the curb.  The SSR process is faster, more efficient, and accepts much more material, particularly plastic and paper waste.  The process has proven to increase participation in recycling efforts throughout the world, and now, you can do your part to recycle, and save more of our planet's resources for future generations.

To download a list and explanation of acceptable recyclable materials, click on this link.

If you need a new Recycling bin to get started, they are available for $7 at the Canton Treasurer's Office, on the first floor of the Canton Township Administration Building, located at 1150 Canton Center S.
